it won't stop snowing

Today we woke up to a world covered in snow. I have to admit that I like the snow. I like that it makes everything a little quieter and covers up the grey of the winter time. But I am also secretly hoping that this is the last snow of the year, and winter is just going out with a bang by dropping a foot of snow.

Unfortunately with all of this snow, Ethan's school closed early today and will likely be closed tomorrow. It's ridiculously challenging to try to work from home and tame the wild beast. Though I am sure his perfect day would involve sitting on the couch watching cartoons all day and eating popcorn on demand. I will resist such urges and hope that his best friend's school will also be cancelled so that we can all go play in the snow together.

This past weekend was nice. B got ambitious and bought two racks of ribs that he prepped with a zeal that I have never seen before. There is something about meat, especially pork that seems to whip him in to a frenzy. We had so much meat that we ended inviting a few friends over to share it with, it was convenient that the professional football players had a game going on that very same night.

This weekend we have are leaving the city behind for a weekend in Galena, Illinois. Never been, but everyone's reaction is exactly the same, they smile at the word "Galena" and say that it is a nice little town. The main appeal was that it wasn't too far away and there is skiing, which all of this snow will come in handy for. I am actually kind of excited for some midwest hill skiing, it's going to be a cakewalk compared to Colorado. I hope.

Other then that, I have taken on the task that is my website and will hopefully have it up sometime in this calendar year. My design is well on it's way and I will just have to be super nice to the developer boyfriend so that it actually gets developed.
